He Closed His Eyes

He closed his eyes!

He opened his eyes!

Then God looked at Jesus and said - "Son I am an honest Man,

if you look back on everything you'll see I did the best I can.

But there is a Promise that I made, One I'm afraid I have to keep.

And I think this Promise Son; is going to make you weep.

The earths now filled with Pain, Lust, Greed, Fear and Sin.

And now I think its time that we Begin again."

Then Jesus looked at God, and said,

"Hold on, please wait for just a few.

The sun is coming up on Earth and I can smell the morning dew,

there is a little girl in a playground with a smile upon her face.

For just moment, can we pretend she represents the Human Race?"

And God in all his Wisdom said,

"Of course we can,

we will spare the fate of earth for this little girl in the Sand".

The Sun flew across the sky for a year or two,

soon more time had passed as the little girl grew and grew.

God said, "More than most have refused the Master Plan,

Jesus you have taken all this pain for one little girl in the Sand."

Jesus smiled, but did not need reply

he saw the pride and happiness in his fathers eye.

Then one day someone took the little girls life away,

Jesus wept with tears of blood , then upon his knees he fell to pray.

He closed his eyes!

Jesus said to God "I just don't see how,

all the pain and suffering I've done, can ever matter now.

Everywhere I look, most all I see is wrong,

no one really cares about this world, all my hope is gone."

God raised his mighty hand, then whispered out a name,

at that very moment the earth burst into flames,

and when the ashes died; it was a quiet night,

the universe continued to be an awesome sight.

He did not cry, he did not even weep.

God just closed his eyes , then went back to sleep.

He just closed his eyes, and went back to sleep.
